“The art of healing comes from Nature and not from the physician. Therefore, the physician must start from Nature with an open mind”

– Paracelsus

Dr. Homan Rabizadeh grew up in the suburbs of Washington DC, raised by loving and hard-working immigrant parents. He spent some years in Long Island, New York, where he completed his B.S. in Biological Sciences, with a focus on pre-medical studies and biotechnology research, at SUNY Farmingdale State College. During his time there, Dr. Homan worked as a research intern for a Biopharmaceutical company where the focus was on the development of vaccines for Head & Neck Carcinoma. Upon returning to the Washington area, Dr. Homan became a certified EMT and tutored science for middle and high school students. Dr. Homan later pursued an M.S. in Physiology and Complementary & Alternative Medicine (CAM) from Georgetown University in 2012.  During his studies, Dr. Homan had an Integrative Physician as his mentor from George Washington University Hospital where he learned the clinical applications of CAM. He assisted in the development of Group Medical Visits, the first of its kind in the greater Washington DC area, and assisted in its implementation.

Upon graduation, Dr. Homan became an Adjunct Professor at one of the largest community colleges in the US, teaching Anatomy & Physiology. He has shadowed and volunteered with numerous doctors which facilitated his growing passion for medicine. In 2014, Dr. Homan moved to sunny Arizona to begin his medical school studies, becoming a licensed Naturopathic Physician four years later.

His goals are to help an ever-growing population with chronic illness, and encourage disease prevention through lifestyle changes. His areas of passion include cardiovascular disease, men’s health, gastrointestinal disorders, aesthetic medicine and Chinese medicine where he is trained and licensed to do acupuncture in the state of Arizona.

Dr. Homan has chosen to complete his one-year general residency training at the Ayurvedic & Naturopathic Clinic under Dr. Virender Sodhi for many reasons. It was not only Dr. Sodhi’s decades of experience, invaluable knowledge and vast clinic skills, but also his passion to continue learning and to grow. Meeting him several years prior, Dr. Homan quickly fell in awe with Dr. Sodhi’s kindness, a welcoming persona that helps students and young doctors grow and his deep care and commitment to his patients.

Aside from medicine, Dr. Homan has a strong passion for meteorology and aviation. He has been a weather enthusiast and even broadcasted the weather in his early college years. Additionally, he is a certified student pilot and hopes to complete further flight training. Dr. Homan loves to embrace the beauties of nature and enjoys hiking, biking, and of course spending quality time with family and those dear to him.
